Aquaculture holds immense promise for creating a sustainable and equitable food system, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on food security, climate change, and biodiversity (FCB). Biological diversity in aquaculture species can significantly contribute to these goals. However, current research has often overlooked the specific biological traits of farmed aquatic species that impact Food Security, Climate Change, and Biodiversity (FCB).

VIDEO: West Africa Case Study Project Inception Meeting
The West Africa team met for the Case Study Inception Meeting on Zoom on March 28, 2024. The Case Study aims to resolve FCB challenges related to IUU (Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated) fishing and plastic pollution in the Gulf of Guinea, with a focus on Ghana and Nigeria. This inception meeting is the official launch of the West Africa Case Study providing an overview of the project as well as collaborators and partners.
